Happy New Year, everyone! It’s amazing how with the drop of the ball you can feel like your whole slate is wiped clean! Fresh starts are a great time to reevaluate what things can be changed in your life for the positive.
I started the first day of 2017 with a quick smoothie recipe, yoga video, and some at-home-spa treatments! So refreshing!
- 1/2 banana
- 1/2 grapefruit
- Handful of spinach leaves
- Dab of honey
Add your ingredients to a blender (I use my Ninja) until smooth. This smothie has a tropical taste thanks to the grapefruit. Just add a tropical umbrella and pretend you’re at the beach!

It’s not too intense, but does give a little bit of strength exercises to make you feel great!

Going to a gym to workout is not my idea of fun. I just don’t find it appealing to sweat in front of strangers. To counter this problem, I like to watch workout videos on YouTube. Here are a few that I find enjoyable, and effective!
This is a great yoga video. Not too difficult, but you will definitely feel this in your arms and legs.
I found the Tone It Up girls a few years ago, and I fell in love with their personalities and workouts!
This is a great one for the abs. You will feel this one!

We all have those days. Where everything goes wrong, and you feel like nothing will ever be right again. While we all wish those days were far and few between, they eventually come around. So I’ve compiled some Bad Day Pick-Me-Ups that help me make it through those rough days. Enjoy!
Bad Day Pick-Me-Ups!
1. Favorite TV Show/Movie
This is an easy one. Pick a show or movie that will bring some laughs and smiles! I like to watch Friends or Gilmore Girls. Whatever makes you happy!
Even though the last thing you want to do on a bad day is workout, I promise it will make you feel better! I love to go for a walk or bike ride in the fresh air! Yoga is also nice if you don’t want to get too active. Being able to stretch your muscles will feel good, plus knowing your burning some extra calories is nice!
3. Favorite Music
Take a queue from Meredith and Christina: “30-second dance party!” Pick out some up-beat, favorite songs and dance it out!
4. Caffeine Fix
While I wouldn’t recommend this every time you have a bad day, sometimes you just need some caffeine! I like to get Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffee or Iced Latte!
