Happy Monday, everyone!
Most of us have been enjoying the beautiful summer weather while on vacation. I love summer traveling because I am able to wear outfits that I might otherwise be unable to show off normally (such as that fancy dress for a night on the town). Beach vacations are my favorite, & I love to wear outfits that are beach approved! Beach resort wear is that easy look that is both comfortable & fashionable. These looks help to make you feel more relaxed while enjoying those sunny days!
Here are a few of my outfits I wore while on vacation. When at the beach, I go for more casual looks. Shorts & t-shirts are a must!
On Monday I took a shopping trip to Bethany Beach, DE. It is the cutest little town! It has so many shops that are unique & adorable! One store I went into was called “Yuppy Puppy.” It had hand-made dog treats, dog toys, & dog gifts. Bethany Beach is definitely more family & community oriented. The whole town is very clean & has a very mellow atmosphere. I loved it! 🙂
Happy Wednesday, everyone!
It’s so nice to have a long weekend before going back to work. It makes everything more relaxing. I was lucky enough to celebrate my birthday over the holiday weekend. I spent the weekend at the beach, it was lovely! The weather was perfect, & I even got to wear shorts. Always a plus!
I got myself a few birthday presents at the outlets. One was a JCrew necklace. I love JCrew jewelry, so I thought I’d indulge! I also purchased a new pair of sunglasses, also JCrew.
While enjoying the boardwalk, I came across a bookstore that sells nearly every book & nick-knack you could think of. It’s one of those bookstores where the books are piled on shelves, & digging through them is half the fun! I found a forty-year old copy of The Great Gatsby. The edges are trimmed in gold & each chapter has lovely illustrations.
Finally, I went to Marshalls & found chocolate covered Oreos. Yes, I said that correctly. They were amazing!!
My birthday was really wonderful! I am truly blessed, & I’m so glad I could enjoy turning 23 with the ones I love! ❤
With spring arriving, and summer on its way, many of us are making plans to vacay. I know I am! So I thought I’d do a post on a few of my travel essentials.
1. Luggage ~ If your traveling on a plane, having luggage that is sturdy & durable is a necessity. Let’s be honest, having your luggage burst is not a pretty sight. So make sure your luggage has a zipper that can make it through being thrown around. Also, make sure it meets the weight limit once filled. You don’t want to be that person who has to stuff clothes in your coat so your luggage meets the weight limit. Yes, I’ve been there…
2. Tote ~ This is helpful for carrying items you want on the plane. And anything you couldn’t fit in your suitcase. A tote with a lot of inside pockets is a bonus!
3. On Plane Items ~ Magazines are perfect for leisure reading. If you want something with more substance, books are great. However, I’d get a Kindle which is lighter, & offers more reading options. An iPod is a must. This can help drown out any plane noises, & make for a smoother flight. Be sure to have comfortable headphones, too. I usually bring a sleep mask, especially if the flight is during the day. Finally, a Starbucks drink. I usually go for a frap. While there may be some calories, it’s a vacation!
Here are some random pictures from my Christmas vacation. 🙂
The Olaf cupcake was carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. THE BEST!!! I also got asked a few times where my Gryffindor sweatshirt was from. I got it from Forever21 online a few years ago if anyone is wondering. 🙂
Universal did it again, but better! Seriously, the newest Harry Potter addition to the parks is beyond belief! A fire breathing dragon, Hogwarts Express, & places to cast spells are just a few of the new additions for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley. Last week I got to experience this new part of the park, & I was not disappointed!
The Hogwarts Express takes you from one park to the other, with interactive experiences. Going through the London station, King’s Cross Station, to board the train is pretty cool, as well.
The scenery is to perfection when you compare it to the movies. I also love the new shops that have been added, including Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour. Fair warning, only try the Chocolate Chili ice cream if you are a daring wizard.
One thing we missed on our first trip through was Knockturn Alley. If you aren’t careful, you can walk right by and miss this spooky area (that’s what we did. We didn’t realize because it is not as obvious an entrance as other areas in Diagon Alley). I must admit, it freaked me out a little. I was sure He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was going to pop out.
Yes, I got sucked into buying a wand. But, the new wands allow you the chance to cast spells at different locations, which are located on a map inside your wand box. The map itself would look great framed.
Overall, I think that the new Harry Potter section is amazing! I hope that Universal will continue to add to the Harry Potter world!
