Stila Best Of Kitten Gold Makeup Set!

Happy Monday, everyone!

Over the weekend I took my usual trip to Marshalls. I almost left with a new Kate Spade bag, but it was white and sadly had a few marks on it. I did, however, leave with some Stila makeup that I’ve been eyeing ever since I started watching YouTube makeup videos. It was beautifully packaged in a gold, metallic box that caught my eye instantly. Inside it had an eyeliner, eyeshadow, lip gloss, liquid luminizer, and a gold bracelet from Baublebar. For $18 I thought it was a steal! I took some swatches & the payoff seems great! The colors are beautiful. This find was awesome!

New Kitchen Items & New Reads!

Recently I’ve been obsessed with finding cute home items. I love when I have a space that’s both inviting & cheerful! I want my home to be an escape from everyday life. Here are a few items that have helped me achieve that!

The pineapple mat is from Home Goods, as well as the “Good Morning!” bowl. I also found a similar bowl that says, “Today is the day!” An easy way to add some motivation when you don’t want to go to work! ;D

The ice cream towels are from Target (basically where I end up every weekend. No shame.).

I’ve also been looking for coffee table additions/new reading material.

 :

Lauren Conrad recently came out with her newest book, Celebrate, where she gives her party planning tips, tricks, & treats! Anything Lauren does is pretty much gold in my book!

 :

I also purchased the latest Harper’s Bazaar (featuring Jennifer Aniston), & Kate Hudson’s book Pretty Happy. Both are great reads so far!

 :

Finally, I found this adorable fish vase at Target that I’ve been eyeing every time I shop. The colors are fabulous. I’m waiting to see if it goes on sale in order to justify buying it. Fingers crossed!

Sofa Hunting & OOTD!

weekend_3

Shirt: Target. Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters. Jacket: Loft. Shoes: Ross.

Happy Monday, everyone!

So I had my first experience buying a couch. Let me just say, there is so much that I didn’t realize went into making this decision! Color, firmness, style, stain resistance. Picking a couch that would last me a while was a bigger struggle than I thought it would be (yes, first world problems). I finally decided on this teal colored couch by Ashley Furniture. My grandma was nice enough to buy my couch for me. Thank you, Maw Maw!!!! 🙂

Afterwards, we made a quick stop at Target. I had to try on this cute burgundy hat, such a great addition for your fall wardrobe. Sadly, I just can’t seem to pull off the hat look. But if you can pull off hats, be sure to check out Target. They have a lot of great floppy, fall hats!

The outfit above was what I wore on Saturday. I think it’s really cute! Kinda throw-backish, which is exactly what my boyfriend said when I showed him. Who knew he was so fashionable?? 😛

The Perfect Hostess!

Happy Monday, everyone!

Today I thought I’d talk about how to be the perfect hostess! Throwing a party can be both stressful & time-consuming. RSVP’s must be sent out, color scheme chosen, food made, tables set, & numerous other duties.

It is best to allow yourself plenty of time to make all these decisions. If you are throwing a rather large party (50-100 people), I think about 2-3 months allows you enough time to plan accordingly.

Once a color scheme is chosen (I picked gold & white), you can go out & purchase items that add elegance. I find that Marshalls & HomeGoods has the best selection when it comes to glassware, décor, & party items.

Food is where you can get really creative & fancy. Cheese plates with wine are a must! Petite, colorful hors d’oeuvres are perfect finger foods for small talk & allows your guests to mingle. Rather than a four-course meal, offer finger sandwiches. For dessert, small cakes, cookies, & coffee are the perfect way to end the night!

Here are a few more fabulous tips!

Vineyard Vines & Banana Republic Haul!

Over my vacation I visited the outlets. I love outlet shopping. Honestly, for clothes I don’t see the point in paying full-price for designer items. One of the stores I went to was Vineyard Vines. While I love the look of the items, I was really unimpressed with the service at the store. The employees were very snooty, & acted like I needed to leave. All I could thing was, “This is an OUTLET store. Calm yo self.” LOL.

I ended up buying two Shep Shirt Pullovers. One for spring/summer, the other a little thicker for winter/fall. I picked both navy colors because I figured they go with anything.

I also visited Banana Republic. This is one of my favorite places to shop because they have petite sizes. It can be so hard to find petite sizes at most stores.

The shirt is so cute, & fits in that I’m-not-really-trying kind of way. I also got a pair of capris. Then, I found something I’ve been looking for since I can remember.

Boyfriend jeans!!!! Also, Banana Republic sizing runs big, so I was able to get them in a size 0. 😉

Lilly Pulitzer Love!

So I finally got to see a Lilly Pulitzer signature store! The preppy side of me was in heaven!

The store is called “The Pink Crab,” located in Rehoboth, Delaware. How adorable!

I ended up getting the flamingo tumbler & agenda book.

I figured I have two dresses from Lilly Pulitzer for Target that I need to get some use out of before adding to my collection. 🙂

Pier 1 Imports!

Pier 1 Imports!
~~~
The other day I took a trip to Pier 1 Imports. This is one of those places I could spend hours in! The furniture & décor items are fabulous! I would seriously fill my home with Pier 1 items if I had the money & means. I did find a couch reminiscent of the TV show F.R.I.E.N.D.S, so of course I wanted it!
“Toasted Pecan” made me think coffee. Which made me think F.R.I.E.N.D.S. 😉
Carmen Sofa - Toasted Pecan
A sales person told me that Pier 1 has sales every month. So eventually this sofa will be on sale, you just have to be patient. That’s what I plan on doing. You will be mine, “Toasted Pecan!”
