The Wedding of the Century & How I Think Meghan Markle Is Doing So Far!

A few months ago, the world witnessed the royal wedding of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle. Yes, I was one of those people who got up before the crack of dawn to watch the royal wedding. I’m a sucker for romance, what can I say?

My Maw Maw & I had coffee & pastries while we watched live at 5am. It was so fun!

I did all my research before hand to find out all I could about Prince Harry & Meghan’s royal romance. All the TV documentaries were watched. Suffice to say I also watched the Lifetime movie of how they fell in love. I know, I know. That channel totally takes their own liberties to fill in the blanks for any biographical pictures. I will give them credit, though, on who played the leads. Harry looked pretty good, but the actress who played Meghan was uncanny!

Now, most of us think we know who Prince Harry is. He’s been in the media spotlight since he was born. But Meghan Markle, at least for me, was a complete mystery. Even though the show Suits had been on television for quite a while, I’d never heard of it. Meghan spent the last few years on that show, and in most recent years began dating Prince Harry. Comparisons can be made to another actress, Grace Kelly, who went from movie star to Princess overnight.

Meghan’s presence in Harry’s life feels like a breath of fresh air. She is poised, beautiful, & intelligent. She is a strong supporter of women’s rights, & expresses her views in captivating manner. She’s not afraid to break the mold by royalty standards, & I think that’s for the best. In that way, I think she reminds me of Princess Diana. Both strong, passionate women.

I admit I was a bit hesitant when they got engaged, but she is winning me over more & more every day. She handles situations so gracefully, and seems to really support Harry.

I feel he made a great choice, & I can’t wait to see how Meghan & Prince Harry take on the world together!

Be on the lookout for my future post on Meghan’s style as a royal!

Bridal Shower Festivities!

I’m currently sitting in the airport waiting to get on a flight back home. It’s been a whirlwind week. I got married, went on our honeymoon, and survived a hurricane! Hurricane aside, we had an amazing time!

I thought I’d do a quick post on my bridal shower. It was absolutely beautiful! My family and friends went above and beyond. Enjoy the pictures!

We’re Engaged!!!!

My New Year started off with an engagement!!!! I’m beyond happy & blessed to be marrying my other half! Hope you had a wonderful New Year’s Eve!!!

Awestruck Over Adele!

Unless you’ve been in hiding, you’ve probably heard that Adele has been breaking some major music records. I’ll be the first to admit that I have not purchased an Adele record in the past. While I like her songs that were popular radio hits, I’ve just never paid that much attention to her. But with her new album 25, I just can’t stop listening! She really has an amazing voice, but also a sweet personality.

One of my favorite songs on the album is ‘When We Were Young.’

The version above is beyond amazing!

I tried to get tickets to her U.S. tour. Sadly, they sold out too quickly. 😦

Tuesday Inspiration!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Here are some photos of Marilyn Monroe that I thought were so pretty! These were taken the last year of her life. I always had a fondness for this era in her life. Her style was drifting from the glamour of the forties & fifties, to a more modern sixties take. The outfits she started to wear around this time always remind me of my Great Nan. I think she looks lovely, & I wish we could have seen Marilyn throughout the other decades. She would have been a show stopper!

Happy Birthday, Princess Diana!

“Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.” -Princess Diana

Princess Diana was such a beautiful woman, both inside & out. Even years after her untimely death, she is remembered for her wonderful heart. I truly believe she would be so proud of her two boys. Especially William with his choice of wife. And of course she would be in love with her grandchildren.

Happy Birthday, Princess Diana!

The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe: Part 2 Review!

The second part of The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe aired Sunday on Lifetime. Once again, Kelli Garner dazzled as she beautifully portrayed Marilyn Monroe.

First, the subway grate scene from the Seven Year Itch was fantastic! A few shots of Kelli were uncanny in her resemblance of Marilyn.

Second, the wardrobe was spot on! I couldn’t get over the detail that went into the costumes for this movie. Even small details, such as jewelry or shoes were meticulously done.

I thought the story was told fairly accurately. Considering the last few months of Marilyn’s life is shrouded in mystery, the ending was very well done. I won’t spoil it, but I thought it was touching. My only qualms are that I wanted more! I wish the Mr. President scene was longer, & that her marriages were shown, mostly for the costumes ;).

Lifetime surprised me with this film. It was very well done, & I would love to own it on DVD!

(P.S. The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe is airing on Lifetime tonight & tomorrow.)
