I’m a big TV junkie, but I’m a little picky with what I watch. A TV show has to be different in some way, with the ability to keep my interest with each new episode. Since it is summer, I’m re-watching old shows & giving new ones a chance. One of the shows I’m currently watching is AMC’s Humans.
“In a parallel present where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a ‘Synth’ – a highly-developed robotic servant that’s so similar to a real human it’s transforming the way we live.”
In essence, we have created robots (Synths, Synthetics) that look human. They are created to help make our lives easier. The catch is that some of the Synths have human personalities, with the ability to feel & make logical decisions.
What I love about this show is that you know this is the near future. This is something that could potentially happen if our technology continues to develop. This show also makes you question morality. The robots are so real, in appearance & actions, that you begin to think of them as human. You begin to feel like they need to be treated with respect & decency, even though they are robots.
I think the cast is really great, specifically Gemma Chan who plays Anita, the main Synth. She is both beautiful & talented.
My only issue with this show is the accents get a little thick at times.
